About the Scholarship

The Mona littleMore Memorial Scholarship is an outreach program of the United Court of Austin, Inc. — a straight / gay / lesbian / transgender social service organization founded in 1994 in Austin, Texas. Empress Emeritus Mona littleMore (AKA Marc Alexander) was one of the founders of the United Court of Austin and helped raise much-needed funds for the LGBTQ+ community for over 35 years throughout the state of Texas.

The Mona littleMore Memorial Scholarship in no way discriminates against anyone on the basis of race, religion, creed, national origin, age, gender, or sexual orientation. Scholarship amounts range from $500 – $2,000. The number of scholarships awarded depends on funds available at the time of selection.

Eligibility Requirements

All of the following must be met. All required attachments must accompany your application or you will not be considered.

  1. Be a United States citizen or permanent resident and a resident of the State of Texas for the past year (365 days). If a permanent resident, attach a copy of your residency card.
  2. Demonstrate financial need.
  3. Furnish evidence of community involvement (school, church, civic, LGBTQ+, etc.).
  4. Be admitted and enrolled in an institution of higher learning, or attending an accredited technical or vocational school, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or a high school diploma/GED. Provide a current transcript and/or Letter of Acceptance.
  5. Attach two (2) letters of recommendation from individuals who know of your ability to succeed in your chosen field of study and community involvement. Relatives cannot submit these letters. Applicants are encouraged to seek one recommendation from outside their educational institution.
Deadline: July 15, 2026 — Submit 3 complete copies of the completed application to: Mona littleMore Memorial Scholarship, Attn: Board of Directors, P.O. Box 2567, Austin, Texas 78768-2567 or email to board@unitedcourtofaustin.org.
How it works: Complete this online application, then email your required attachments (transcripts, recommendation letters, proof of enrollment) to board@unitedcourtofaustin.org with your reference number. Awards are disbursed directly to your educational institution and may only be used for tuition and/or books.
