What is the 200-point candidacy requirement?
You must earn at least 200 membership participation points (including all minimum and maximum caps) during the period from the day after the prior reign's application deadline through the current reign's application deadline. Points are earned through UCA events, meetings, coronations, investitures, and other approved activities. See Article VI of the Bylaws for full point categories and caps.
When is the application deadline?
Applications are due at the close of the General Membership meeting held during the second month preceding Coronation. The exact date is announced by the Board of Directors at the start of each reign.
What happens after I submit my application?
The Board of Directors will review your application and contact you to schedule an interview. After all interviews are complete, the Board assigns draw numbers to qualified candidates. You may not campaign until after the official Candidate Announcement event.
Can I campaign on social media after Candidate Announcement?
Yes — but only after the official Candidate Announcement event. All campaign materials and public functions must be pre-approved by the election committee. Violations may result in disqualification.
What is the $50 application fee for?
The non-refundable application fee covers administrative costs of the candidacy process. It is due at the time of submission and may be paid in cash, money order, cashier's check, or electronic payment approved by the Board (Bylaws §9.5.2).
What if I do not meet the 200-point requirement?
You are not eligible to run until the requirement is met. The Board of Directors verifies points prior to approving candidacy. If you are close to the threshold, contact the Board for guidance on how to earn additional points before the deadline.
